Former Polk County Deputy Joshua Roelofs Sentenced for Fatal Crash: A jury convicted him of DUI manslaughter, DUI with serious bodily injury, vehicular homicide, and reckless driving. He was sentenced to thirty-two and a half years in prison, five years of probation, a permanent drivers license revocation, one hundred hours of community service, and a two thousand five hundred dollar fine. Roelofs was driving at around one hundred miles per hour when he crashed into a Kia Sorrento, killing two passengers and seriously injuring two others. He fled to Colombia after the charges but was arrested and brought back to Miami.
