Fentanyl Death: Apollo Beach Man Convicted for Selling Deadly Drug
A federal jury has convicted Ludwin Borgen, a 49-year-old from Apollo Beach, on fentanyl distribution charges linked to a womans tragic death. The woman, who had purchased the drug from Borgen multiple times, died after injecting it in her bathtub and drowning. Toxicology reports revealed ten times the safe level of fentanyl in her system. Authorities used her phone to set up a sting, leading to Borgens arrest with more fentanyl in his possession. His car was found to contain fentanyl, syringes, baggies, and a scale. Borgen now faces at least twenty years or life in prison and will be sentenced on June sixteenth by a team from the FBI, sheriffs office, and state investigators.
