The Premier League’s Champions League chase is getting spicy. With Aston Villa sitting pretty in third (for now), could one of Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea miss out on Champions League qualification? But what decides it?
Manchester United: Is the “new manager bounce” under Michael Carrick actually something more real?
Liverpool: Have they rediscovered that ruthless knack of winning tight games even when they’re not at their best?
Chelsea: are discipline problems and self-inflicted moments costing them points from winning positions?
Aston Villa: comfortable in third or quietly in trouble? (injuries, form wobble)
The wildcard: Brentford - a very outside chance of crashing the top five party if teams above slip up.
