How a throw-away idea over dinner became a two-day festival of slot cars and rallying. Gold plated trophies, cars running through water, a hill climb to a castle and lots of happy people. It was never repeated, but it kick-started a fondly remembered, multi-year slot rally championship with events across the country, limited edition cars and many fond memories. Here is how it all began.
