Thoughts on the Padres series win vs. the Cubs at Petco Park. Fernando homered twice in game one and it was another night of the smaller name players coming through. Chicago handed the Friars their first loss at home (or maybe San Diego handed it to themselves) on Tuesday before the rubber match on Wednesday. Jackson Merrill did some work in the outfield before today's game along with Brandon Lockridge. Brett Sullivan was dealt to the Pirates for a former Padre.
