Legendary football journalist Paddy Barclay and Manchester United author and producer Wayne Barton return for the second season of their acclaimed history series on Manchester United. In this series they discuss the early years of Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
Episode Four looks at the 89/90 season, a very eventful one indeed. This was the season which saw a number of new faces arrive in a summer of mass expenditure, and two club legends depart, in the shape of Paul McGrath and Norman Whiteside, with Alex Ferguson wielding his axe in most ruthless fashion. Still, it looked as though the axe might fall on Ferguson himself - until two big moments from two of his 'fledglings' turned things around forever.
