Hello and welcome back to the Talk Tuba podcast! This podcast is run by the BGSU Falcon Marching Band Sousaphone Section.Today we are talking to the President of Bowling Green State University, Dr. Rodney K. Rogers! We hope you enjoy this episode of Talk Tuba!! :)A short biography of Dr. Rogers:Dr. Rodney Rogers is the 12th president of Bowling Green State University and the first BGSU alumnus to hold the position. He grew up in Kenton, Ohio. His first degree wasn't in business or education, he actually got a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Ohio Northern University, where he studied as a baritone vocalist. After college, he got his certified public accountant license where he spent over a decade in the industry. He then came to BGSU where he got his Masters of Business Administration, and then he earned his PhD from Case Western Reserve University where his research was focused on the ways financial analysts use information. In 2006, he went back to BGSU to serve as the dean of the College of Business, where later became provost and senior vice president, and was then named president in February of 2018. Under his leadership, BGSU has raised over $330 million dollars, welcomed back-to-back record-breaking freshman classes, introduced a wide variety of academic programs, and has earned the number one ranking in Ohio for student experience from the Wall Street Journal six years running.Check us out on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Instagram! insta - talktubaspotify - Talk TubaApple Podcasts - Talk Tuba
