Even the best made plans sometimes hit a bump in the road that throws everything sideways. It could be sickness, weather issues, a delayed or missed flight, or simply realizing you have planned a trip for the "wrong" time of the year due to extra hot weather, hurricane season kicking in early, or the expectation of big crowds because kids are out of school. Regardless of the reason- when traveling, it is important to always be flexible and have an alternate plan in your back pocket. This "Pivoting" episode includes some great rules to follow. One bug rule is purchase the Travel Insurance. When things happen and a trip has to be postponed or cancelled, travel insurance is worth every penny! Also, when planning a beach trip or a trip that includes lots of outdoor activities like hiking or sporting adventures, ALWAYS have a Rainy Day Itinerary with indoor activity options for the whole group. Sometimes the days before leaving on a trip and the actually traveling can wear you out so build in a Rest Day or at least some down time at the beginning of the trip instead of jumping straight in with lots of activities or sight-seeing.
