Show Notes

The Cheshire Murders refer to a brutal 2007 home invasion in Cheshire, Connecticut, where Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters Hayley (17) and Michaela (11) were raped and murdered by Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky, who beat and restrained Dr. William Petit before killing his family and setting the home on fire. Hayes strangled Jennifer and Komisarjevsky sexually assaulted Michaela; both girls died of smoke inhalation after being tied to their beds and having gasoline poured over them before the house was set ablaze. Dr. Petit, severely injured, managed to escape; the murderers were arrested at the scene.
