JonBenét Ramsey, a 6-year-old child beauty queen, was found murdered in her family’s Boulder, Colorado home on December 26, 1996, her body discovered in the basement with signs of blunt force trauma and strangulation. The case began as a suspected kidnapping—her mother reported finding a ransom note demanding $118,000—but soon turned into a homicide investigation after JonBenét’s body was located with her mouth duct-taped, wrists tied, and a homemade garrote around her neck.
