The bath consolidated school disaster occurred on may 18, 1927, in bath township, michigan that resulted in the deaths of 45 people, including 38 elementary school children. More than 50 people were injured, many of them seriously. The impact of the tragedy was felt not only in bath township, but throughout the country, and it remains one of the deadliest school disasters in american history.
