Sam Strange was convicted for the 1994 murders of two 16-year-old girls, Dawn Donaldson and Crissy Campbell, in Grass Valley, California. After years of maintaining he only witnessed the killings and helped move the bodies, Strange was still found guilty and served decades in prison before being released on parole in 2020—a decision that divided the victims’ families, with some choosing forgiveness and others left with wounds that parole can’t heal.
