Yes, in fact, there are two sides, and approaching those closest to us with news that something is not as they’ve always understood it in your relationship can be jarring. Normalizing around this big new thing is the first step, then you can move on to the business of figuring out the rhythm of your relationship going forward. But what if you run into an ideological brick wall? That’s another story.
