The new league year is officially here, and the Bears continue to add new players in free agency. David Haugh and Dan Wiederer examine the players who have been signed so far, including former Rams center Coleman Shelton. It seems like general manager Ryan Poles is being rather tactical with his moves and isn't making a huge splash, which can be risky in free agency. Plus, quarterback Justin Fields remains on the Bears. The assumption around the NFL remains that he'll be traded, but at this point, what can the Bears get for him? They wouldn't seriously consider keeping him on and drafting USC quarterback Caleb Williams, would they?
