200多年來首次，美國國會遭到攻破！原本在國會舉行的參眾兩院聯席會議，是要認證民主黨籍拜登當選，結果遭大批支持現任總統川普的群眾入侵，創下1814年以來，國會第一次被攻破的紀錄。衝突中，議員緊急撤離、全院封鎖，警方甚至傳出一度開槍鎮暴，造成一名女川粉中彈身亡。不過華府警方指控民眾使用刺激性化學物攻擊警方，佔領國會大肆破壞，現場逮捕多人，還發現至少一枚爆裂物。
