社群網站臉書遭外界質疑壟斷並傷害用戶隱私及權益，9號美國政府大動作對臉書提出反托拉斯訴訟，全美有46個州州政府外加華府和關島，以及消費者權益主管機關FTC聯邦貿易委員會，加入訴訟行列，其中要求臉書要出售幾年前先後收購的競爭對手Instagram及WhatsApp，不過臉書回應，過去的收購案當時都是獲得官方FTC批准，將會捍衛自身權益。訴訟消息一出，臉書股價一度重挫超過3%。
