美國莫德納生技公司（Moderna）研發新冠疫苗也傳出捷報，但外界還是關心，台灣有沒有機會買到，對此，國內醫師認為，由於全球大國都已經先跟輝瑞下單，相對來說這支疫苗可能更容易取得，加上這支疫苗只需要在零下20度的環境就能保存，因此冷鏈技術較容易克服。
此外，指揮中心也回應，先前就曾與莫德納公司接洽，雙方都有意願合作，但數量和價格還有待談判；指揮官陳時中則說，國外研發疫苗的生技廠，如果有機會都會洽談。
