新冠疫苗研發有了重大進展，美國輝瑞藥廠9日宣布，他們研發的新冠肺炎疫苗，在第三階段人體實驗顯示，預防感染效果達到9成。輝瑞除了向美國向美國食品藥物管理局申請緊急授權，同時加緊生產疫苗，預估今年底前可提供全球5000萬支疫苗。而在疫苗還沒上市前，美國總統當選人拜登呼籲，全美民眾把口罩戴起來，減少感染機會，降低死亡率。
