Show Notes

After weeks of discussion and deliberation the five (5) major parties involved in planning the 2020 Summer Olympic games came to the decision that No Spectators would be allowed as cases of COVID-19 rise in Japan and vaccination rates remain very low (5%). The International Olympic Committee (IOC), The International Paralympic Committee (IPC), The Tokyo Organizing Committee (TOC), The Tokyo Municipal Government (TMG), and The Government of Japan (GOJ), have unanimously decided to ban spectators from the games and to lock down the city.

Marc Zirogiannis, Taekwondo Life Magazine's Editor in Chief and host, discusses the implications of this decision on Japan, the Games, and the athletes. He also discusses Thomas Bach's personal message to the athletes as well as the unique alternative and technological ways the IOC is looking to reach fans as the Games begin in less than three (3) weeks.
