It's an EMERGENCY!The Broncos had a somewhat successful season, but decided Russell Wilson wasn't worth the injury risk, so they shut him down for the year. He won't be restructuring his deal, so he just might be a very expensive cap hit, since all signs point to him being cut from the team. What team would he be a good match for? Will his career fizzle out like Cam Newton? Is he capable of entering the "serviceable backup" portion of his career? Listen in to find out what the guys think. The guys also recap the Thursday Night game that saw the Browns beat the Jets and clinch a playoff berth despite being decimated by injuries. Week 17 is upon us!There isn't much news to report, so the guys pretty much jump right into the playoff picture and discuss the possibilities for all of the teams still in the picture. Are the Bills a nightmare matchup for the Chiefs? Can the Falcons sneak in? Are the Colts going to drop out? Who takes their place if they do? So many questions to ponder. Then Jon tries to keep gaining on Schif, whose upset gamble kept Jon at bay in an otherwise off week. Jon thinks he has the right order figured out. But who wins the toss? Week 16 is in the books! The guys are happy that both of their teams got victories. The playoff races continue to heat up as the regular season comes to a close. The Bills squeaked by the Chargers. Should they be concerned? Was it just a fired coach bump? The upset of the week happened to be the 49ers' loss to the Ravens. Should this have been a loss? Is it Kyle Shanahan's fault? Guess what Schif thinks. The NFC South is still wide open. The AFC Wild Card race is as wild as ever. The league gave us some exciting games this week and the guys are here to break it all down. The Giants' fairytale ended, as well as the Jets' playoff hopes. Week 14 is in the books! Both Jon and Schif's teams lost this week with Jon's heartbreak coming in a historic fashion. They lick their wounds as they go through all of the week's action. Should Dolphins fans be worried about their team? What about Lions fans? The playoff race is red hot right now with more than 10 teams in the hunt in both conferences. The sixth and seventh seeds are up for grabs in what could be the most exciting regular season finale in a long time. Week 14 is upon us!Jon has been getting his ass handed to him in Flip 'Em & Pick 'Em. He desperately needs a victory this week. The coin toss is important with plenty of opportunities to make a strong comeback like he did last year. The episode begins with some updates. Injuries are taking some teams down these days. For the first time ever, a Monday night game has been flexed (take that, Pats fans!). The playoff picture is far from clear in both conferences. What will it look like in a few weeks? Week 13 is in the books! Jon and Schif had successful weeks, as the Dolphins and Falcons won their games. Schif is bummed about the Georgia Bulldogs, but you can't win em all every year. Week 12 is in the books! It felt like two weeks of football with so many games on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. The guys are sad that they lost almost all of their bets this weekend. That's why they call it gambling! It was, however a great sports weekend for Jon and Schif, who celebrate a ACS weekend, with both their college and pro teams winning over the holiday weekend. The Sunday action was a good follow-up to mostly one-sided Thanksgiving and Black Friday games (besides that Packers/Lions game). The Eagles did it again, Chiefs are coming into form, Broncos are coming on strong, 49ers are quietly confident, Dolphins and Cowboys still bullies, Chargers Charging and so on. Week 12 is upon us!Now we're in the thick of things. Each game has even more weight as we get closer to the end of the regular season. As always, there's updates on team injuries and changes in lineups. Finally, the guys get to the picks, where Schif has been pulling away from Jon in "Flip 'Em & Pick 'Em". Week 11 is in the books! An exciting Monday night Super Bowl rematch capped off another fun weekend of football. The Falcons had a week off, but Jonathan's Dolphins played in a somewhat difficult victory over the re-energized Raiders. Some players shocked the league with their performances with impressive outings by Tommy DeVito and Brandon Aiyuk, while other players like Zach Wilson and Keenan Allen left a little on the field to improve. CJ Stroud showed he's merely human, but in victory in what is now a pretty tight division with a pretty important showdown on the horizon. Justin Fields had one of the best performances of his young career, but does that mean he'll be in Chicago next year with that Panthers pick burning a hole in their pocket? Week 10 is in the books! The guys forgot to bet, but if they would have, they would have gotten everything right, of course!Jon's team had a bye week (even though his Hurricanes let him down) but the week of action still delivered. There were some exciting games despite the Dolphins, Eagles and Chiefs all being on bye weeks. Stroud continued to impress, while AFC East quarterbacks continued to disappoint. The Cowboys solidified their position as the bullies of the NFC. Baby Yoda is back and his presence was felt. Deshaun Watson seems to be trying to return to form. Was it him or the Ravens that got that result? The Chargers Chargered and the Falcons Falconed. Are the 49ers back on pace to win it all?So many questions that the guys are here to answer. Week 10 is upon us!The regular season is more than halfway complete, so the guys will take a look through the divisions and give their thoughts. Schif begins this prediction episode, as always, with updates. The dire quarterback situation around the league begs the answer to the question: Would it be better if the trade deadline was later in the season? Some teams could really use a trade partner in order to avoid tanking a season that could otherwise work out. After the break, the guys dig into each division. Are the current standings how the chips will fall? Unlikely. Which teams are likely to make a run at the end of the year? Then the guys make their picks for the week. Schif has a narrow lead in Flip 'Em & Pick 'Em, but Jonathan thinks he can close the gap or even take over in the next few weeks. The episode is capped off with Sexiest games, Upsets of the Week and Bold Predictions. Week 9 is in the books! The NFL took a weird turn at some point in the season and somehow the league is full of mediocre quarterbacks. There are a few exceptions out there, such as rookie Texans QB C.J. Stroud, who had a record-breaking game on Sunday. Josh Dobbs was an exception as well, coming over from Arizona on very short notice and then being required to play without knowing the playbook. We'll keep an eye out on that situation. The Eagles keep rolling along unimpressively, but somehow without losing games. It's hard to crown them the best team in the NFC, but it's also hard to argue with it. Week 9 is upon us!The midway point of the season is here and the guys are back to talk about all things NFL. This has been a action-packed week with the Raiders' firing of Josh McDaniels overshadowing the conclusion of the trade deadline. Was the firing warranted? Can the team turn things around? Is Jon's theory going to be proven again when the Raiders take on the Giants? Is the bizarre fortune cookie firing story real? It is definitely entertaining! The Commanders went full fire sale. Does that mean the end is near for ole Riverboat Ron? The Vikings picked up Josh Dobbs. Does this mean they want to keep grinding towards the playoffs? Does a strong defensive showing ensure Brian Flores snags a head coaching position? Are teams colluding to make sure Kyle Shanahan has every reason to win it all with the Chase Young trade? Are the Bears just doing things to do things? Tune in to hear all of Jon and Schif's thoughts on the league, plus Sexiest Matchups, Upsets of the Week and Bold Predictions. Week 8 is in the books! The guys are back to discuss the week 8 action. Schif is now in the lead in Flip 'Em & Pick 'Em after a few more upsets in this crazy season of football. The Chiefs lost to a bottom-five team. How?! Is it time to panic? The Ravens seem to be rolling. To Schif's delight, the 49ers are skidding and now out of first place in their division. What a Sunday!Jon is happy about his Dolphins, while Schif is more frustrated than ever with his Falcons' quarterback situation. Is the Desmond Ridder experiment over? There may be some last-minute moves made before the trade deadline passes with the injuries plaguing the quarterback position around the league. Cousins going down was sad, but may trigger some action with the Vikings still in the playoff hunt. The Cowboys kicked butt, but did that make them the scariest team in the NFC? What about the AFC? Week 7 is in the books!Jon is bummed out after another Dolphins loss to a good team. Are the Dolphins just able to bully the bad teams? The SveNFL Eliminator challenge has a winner that we all know. Congrats to that person. The cream of the league continues to rise, with the Chiefs, Ravens and Eagles separating themselves from the pack. Week 5 is in the books! This unpredictable season rolled on with a few upsets and even a scoreless showing by a team that hasn't been known for losing like that since the 90s. Is it time for the Patriots to tear it all down? Are the Bengals back for good? Has the light bulb come on for Justin Fields? Is Detroit the real deal? Week 4 is in the books!Jon chose correctly when he decided to let Schif pick the games he picked for Flip 'Em & Pick 'Em. Schif had a pretty bad week. The season is young...There were some surprises and updates and a lot of three-point results in Week 4. Justin Fields had the best game of his career, only to come up just short in the end. The Dolphins got the wake up call that they desperately needed. The Vikings eeked out a victory that keeps their division hopes alive, but Dan Campbell and his Lions seem to be for real.Is White Geno for real? The Bucs are looking like the best team in their division. Desmond Ridder just might not be the guy in Atlanta. Should they pull the plug? Should New York? They gave Kansas City all they could handle in a subpar Mahomes outing, but fell short again. Is Cincinnati okay? The guys are here early this week to discuss Thursday and Sunday's action. They'll be back later in the week to break down Monday. Week 3 has been exciting thus far. Jon is on cloud 9 since after his Dolphins' historic 70-20 drubbing of the Denver Broncos. That was unexpected, but something not so unexpected was the Jets looking bad on offense. Is it time to pull the plug on this experiment? Is the locker room going to revolt? Upsets were real this week. The Cowboys and Ravens both lost to what we all thought were inferior opponents. Are those teams in trouble? The Cardinals have been frisky all season. Should we put all the tank talk away for good? Some teams handled their business. The Chiefs embarrassed the Bears while we all wonder if Fields is just bad. Does he need a change in scenery? The Super Bowl is in the books! We all got us another good game, though tin foil conspiracy hats might be required for this one. There was good quarterback play, great adjustments, questionable calls, a great halftime show, good commercials and more this year. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they came up short. The legacy of two people have already begun getting discussed. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have done it again, and with two championships under their belts, where does this put their places in history? The podcast will go on a break for a bit, so take care of yourselves until we come back to discuss the 2023 season. Music: Nils Landgren Funk Unit - Get Serious, Get A JobSupport this podcast at www.patreon.com/svenfl Hosted on Acast. Pro Bowl Weekend is in the books!Cue the Mike Tomlin soundbite. We all know the Pro Bowl isn't that exciting, but there were some highlights from the weekend that was. The guys start off by going through those things. Then on to the real excitement... coaching changes! Sean Payton has a new home in Denver. That hire has changed the coaching landscape dramatically. Can he fix the Broncos? What will happen with that defense? What's going to happen in Arizona? Tampa? Dallas has a new OC, but McCarthy will call the plays. Is this the end of that regime? What advice does Jonathan give for Houston with their fourth new coach in three years? The quarterback drama continues, with many teams needing one, but no team making a move just yet. How will that unfold? Finally, Arian Foster confirmed that the NFL is scripted. Schif details the reveal of the 28-3 script to Matt Ryan in a hilarious scene. It's another great SveNFL episode that you won't want to miss. Music: Nils Landgren Funk Unit - Get Serious, Get A JobSupport this podcast at www.patreon.com/svenfl Hosted on Acast. The 2022 NFL Award Nominees list is out! Some notable names are left off of the list, while some guys are on the list that the SveNFL guys disagree with. They go through it all in this episode. But first, the news. There's plenty of movement league-wide. Jon is happy with his team's apparent new DC. Schif is glad to hurt the Saints in any way possible, so taking their DC works for him. Some teams are still looking for a coach, but not the Panthers. Is Frank Reich the best in the NFC South? The Divisional Round is in the books!  Or should we say... the Dangerously Delicious Divisional Round Reactions? The guys spiced up the name in order to match the NFL's Super Wild Card Weekend Energy.   The games were entertaining for the most part, and we are likely to get a great slate of championship games. Jon (of course) loved the defensive struggle that was Cowboys v 49ers. Does McCarthy keep his job? Was Dak the reason America's team lost? How does Schif feel about Kyle Shanahan these days?  The Eagles handled their business. Should Giants fans hang their heads? Is Hurts a man on a mission?   The Chiefs beat the Jaguars. How far ahead of the plan are the Jaguars? Are they the divisional favorites going forward? How important is Travis Kelce?  The Bengals are again back at the Championship game. Have they done enough to be at the seat of the "top of the AFC" conversation? What do the Bills keep getting wrong?   So many questions answered this episode. Don't miss any of them, or the guys' MVP, Trash, Shit got learned and Scariest Teams from this past week.   Music: Nils Landgren Funk Unit - Get Serious, Get A JobSupport this podcast at www.patreon.com/svenfl Hosted on Acast. The 2022 Divisional Round is upon us!First things first, the guys have to talk about the quarterback carousel that promises to turn the league upside down this coming offseason. Will Tom Brady keep playing? Where will he go? What about Aaron Rodgers? What are the best spots for Derek Carr and Lamar Jackson? Which team is pretty much a quarterback away? So much juicy stuff to discuss. As for Flip 'Em & Pick 'Em, Schif is comfortably ahead. The guys make their picks for the divisional round. With the playoff scoring, Jon is only one upset away from getting back into it.Music: Nils Landgren Funk Unit - Get Serious, Get A JobSupport this podcast at www.patreon.com/svenfl Hosted on Acast.
