Today's Support is Sexy REWIND episode was a dream come true. I had he opportunity to speak to Jnane Tamsna hotel owner Meryanne Loum-Martin in the hotel's garden in Marrakech, Morocco. I read about Meryanne — a visionary of the industry and the first and only Black woman to own a hotel in Morocco — in several publications, including Essence and Black Enterprise — more than a year ago, and I vowed that I would one day interview her. I had no idea, however, that the interview would happen in person and that I would actually do so while staying at her stunning boutique hotel.
On this episode, Meryanne shares her inspiring journey from Senegal to France to Marrakech, lessons she learned from the challenges and the triumphs along the way, how she created one of Morocco's most beloved retreats under immense pressure of a looming deadline, and the incredible plans she has for creating a space where African artists and creatives of the diaspora are celebrated!
