Show Notes

Sydney beaches experienced multiple shark alarms and closures over the weekend, affecting locations including Palm Beach, Newport, Manly, Balmoral and South Maroubra. Bull sharks remain active in Sydney waters due to elevated water temperatures and lingering effects from recent storms, with increased drone surveillance now detecting their presence more frequently. Shark culling is ineffective as attractants in the water, rather than shark numbers, are the primary issue, and bull sharks play an important role in controlling other shark species like dusky sharks and bronze whalers.
