Sydney experienced severe storms with toppled trees and hail across the southwest, resulting in over 400 SES call-outs and 5,000 homes without power. A severe storm warning remains in place for the Snowy Mountains and south coast of New South Wales, with damaging winds up to 100 kilometres per hour forecast. A burst water main at the West Ryde pumping station has left a quarter of a million homes under water restrictions, with repairs expected to take days.
