David Walters, known as Dougie, celebrates his 40th birthday as a 25-year veteran member of the Sunrise breakfast television team. The long-serving control room staff member wakes at 11pm daily to work on the show, provides the voice for the program's introduction, and writes the humorous puns featured in scripts. His colleagues surprise him with a birthday cake on air, recognising him as one of the original team members and a beloved presence in the Sunrise family.
