Show Notes

Severe weather is impacting Australia's east and west coasts, with an intense low-pressure system generating 10-metre swells and 110-kilometre winds off Sydney's coast, particularly affecting Bondi Beach where the sand has been washed away and ferries have been cancelled. Melbourne is experiencing an unseasonably cold snap with 100-kilometre winds, hundreds of SES calls, and early snowfall at Mount Hotham, more than 10 weeks before the official snow season begins. Authorities have effectively closed coastal areas and are urging residents to stay out of dangerous surf conditions after six lives were lost the previous weekend during similar conditions.
