A Cessna C550 business jet belonging to semi-retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle crashed during an emergency landing attempt at a regional airport in North Carolina, erupting into a fireball on the runway. The aircraft was carrying six people and law enforcement have confirmed multiple fatalities, with the plane having attempted to return to the airfield shortly after takeoff before crashing through trees and skidding across a road. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash and identify those on board.
