Show Notes

Melbourne's Myki contactless payment system upgrade, which is 18 months overdue and over $100 million over budget, has experienced technical issues with commuters being charged without intentionally tapping their cards. An elderly woman was charged when her bank card inside her handbag passed near a new tap-and-go reader. The issue is linked to the express transit setting on mobile devices, which allows payments without unlocking the phone, and Transport Victoria is offering refunds for unintentional charges.
