Experts warn dangerous toys from cheap online retailers are failing Australian safety standards ahead of Christmas. Button batteries in imported toys pose severe risks, with at least 20 children hospitalised weekly and cases spiking during the holiday season. Consumer testing found four out of five online platforms including AliExpress, Amazon, eBay and Temu are selling unsafe products that could seriously injure children.
