Tropical Cyclone Norell has made landfall in Western Australia as a Category 4 system, directly impacting the town of Exmouth with winds up to 250 kilometres per hour. The cyclone represents the most severe weather event to hit the tourist town since Cyclone Vance in 1999, causing flooding and dangerous conditions for residents and visitors.
