Australian government emergency response teams have deployed to the Middle East to provide consular assistance to Australians in Iran, Israel, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Australians are being urged to register online for travel updates and reconsider travel plans to Europe for the next five months due to flight hub closures and disrupted flight paths. The former head of Qantas's safety department warns these disruptions could continue for months.
