Meet Mercedes and Michael Yap. Originally from California, Michael has been serving in the Army since January 2023, while Georgia native Mercedes holds down the home front raising their family and pursuing a career as a paralegal in Atlanta. Celebrating six years of marriage together, they are parents to their 16-year-old son, Landyn and 3-year-old corgi, Trunks. Together, they are navigating life and figuring out how to balance raising a family while living apart due to Michael’s military duties.
