In this video, I take you into my kitchen to make Guatemalan rice tamales, also known as pachitos, a traditional Christmas dish that takes time, patience, and a lot of love.I’m from Guatemala, and this year I decided to make pachitos for my American family so they could experience a small but meaningful part of Guatemalan Christmas culture. From soaking and grinding the rice, to preparing the recado (sauce), wrapping the tamales, and steaming them for hours, I share the entire process step by step.This video is also a Spanish learning experience. As you watch, you’ll hear real, natural Spanish used in context, connected to food, family, and traditions.
