The first step towards colonising another planet, would necessarily be the creation of a biosphere, to support the animal and plant life needed to sustain the existence of the colonists. In 1991 in Oracle, Arizona, 8 volunteers entered such a biosphere to begin a two year experiment on the feasibility of the enterprise.
