Show Notes
On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the blowout loss suffered by his beloved New York Jets on Thursday Night Football to the Indianapolis Colts. It's one thing to get embarrassed on national television, it's something else to have the backup quarterback (Mike White) and the third stringer (Josh Johnson) move the ball down the field better than #2 overall pick Zach Wilson ever has. There's no good reason why the offense should look this much better with a couple of journeymen than The Mormon Mahomes. Staying in the AFC, All signs point to the Cleveland Browns releasing disgruntled wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr on Friday. Why on Earth would Cleveland agree to pay OBJ just to go away? That makes zero sense. Moreover, are we sure that there’s this robust market for Beckham once he hits free agency? Perhaps a team like the Kansas City Chiefs or the Green Bay Packers can take a flyer in hopes of reviving his career, but it’s impossible to know if he’s: 1) willing to take a backseat to a better wide receiver, and 2) still even capable of being a difference maker. Finally, Jason closes the show with a very special NFL and college football weekend edition of the Best Bet.
