“Shoot! Shoot!”
The cries from the spectators urged me on. The goal was insight, adrenaline pumped through my veins, giving me the power I needed to keep on running.
Just a few more metres and I would be able to hit the target.
“Bang”
I went down with a thud, a player from the opposite team had brought me down with a tackle. I hadn’t heard her coming from behind and by the time I saw her it was too late.
Pain shot through my head as I hit the ground.
Growing up I had never been able to hear out of my left ear. My parents told me that it was something I was born with. They had taken me to Doctors when I was very young, but had been told there was nothing that could be done to fix my hearing. It didn’t really bother me, I guess I was just used to it.
