“Charlotte! Charlotte!” my mother bolted through the door one afternoon. I was sitting at the dining room table helping my seven-year-old brother Jayden with his home-work. “What’s wrong mom?” I asked, startled by her sudden intrusion.
“Guess what?” my mother said, and her eyes grew brighter as she spoke.
“What?” I asked my mother.
I simply detested guessing games since it usually turns into one of my parents telling me about their newest get-rich scheme.
