The sound of sirens pierced through the night air, I knew I didn’t have much time. I reached my hand through the broken glass window and grabbed hold of the gold bracelet. I had never done anything like that before, but I was desperate. Suddenly I heard a car screech up behind me,
“Put your hands in the air!” Shouted a male voice.
I turned around to see who had spoken. Two police officers were standing in front of me, their guns pointing straight towards me. I had a split second to decide what to do, I could either run for it or give myself up.
I was just about to make a run for it when the female officer said,
“Joel! Is that you?”
“Mum?” I replied. “Dad?!”
I couldn’t believe it. My parents were going to arrest me! But then they did something I never expected.
