I was sitting in the park with my best friend Paula when we heard a woman screaming,
“Help! Help! My daughter has fallen into the river! She can’t swim.”
I looked at my friend Paula.
“We have to help her.” I said, jumping up.
I ran to where the woman was standing at the edge of the river, there in the water was a little girl about 3 years old. She was waving her arms in the air and crying. I could see she was starting to go under the water. Her mother was obviously in shock because she was just standing there doing nothing.
I dived into the water and swam to the little girl. I grabbed hold of her just as she went under the water.
“Put your arms around my neck and hold on tight to me.” I told her.
She put her tiny arms around me and I swam to the edge of the river with her on my back. When we reached the bank her mother came and pulled her out.
