I looked up from the tv show I was watching to see my sister Kate standing in front of me. She looked white as a sheet and was shaking,
“What’s wrong?”
“I..i..t’s G..g..grandma! She’s passed away!”
“Ha ha ha! Good riddance!!”
My family all looked at me in shock at my reaction.
“Nick, what a terrible thing to say, how could you say such a thing?”
“Grandma was a grumpy old woman who was never nice to anybody! I’m not going to pretend to be sad that she’s gone!”
“Nick, go up to your room, right now!”
I just ignored what my Dad said to me and walked right out of the house. I didn’t care if they didn’t like what I had said. It was the truth! Grandma had been a horrible person for most of my life, I was glad she was gone!
