As a kid, I discovered I had a really rare condition where if my heart rate was too high, I would start to swell up, and my throat would close over so I nearly couldn't breathe. I first found out about this in the playground as a toddler. We were climbing up the monkey bars, and I was so high off the ground. I felt fear strike, and my heart rate rise, and then suddenly my skin started to get all red and I was really struggling to get air into my lungs.
