29A Save the Tree/29B New Teacher

Positions of authority threaten the kids’ safe spaces yet again in “Save the Tree.” It’s a great one, full of top-tier Big Bob, Grandma, Helga, Arnold, and everything but the kitchen sink (actually, that too!) and some of our favorite writing of the show so far. Then, in “New Teacher,” the students of PS 118 realize too late how good they had it when they band together to reject an empathetic Mr. Simmons.
