How to know if my idea will work

I've had a few coaching clients of late reach a point of needing help to finally give their side hustles their all in order to help them finally leave a job that isn't serving them anymore. I often get asked about when and how to make the leap from a full time or part time job so as to give their business idea or side hustle a solid crack.
