Joe's origin come from his grandfather Joseph, who owned J.W. Foster and Sons, a family shoe business out of Bolton. J.W. Foster and Sons was the pioneer behind creating the track spike, which revolutionized running as we know it today. After returning from the war, Joe and his brother, Jeff, realized the rise in competitors, who were doing something that J.W. Foster and Sons wasn't evolving with... marketing. Joe and Jeff departed the family business in 1958 to create what is now known as Reebok. Justin studied architecture at the University of Notre Dame, where he ran track and field, which had much impact on his future endeavors. After working in design at some of the world's leading footwear brands, Justin realized the void in a comfortable dress shoe that the fast-paced corporate world calls for. Implementing a combination of both casual and formal materials, Wolf & Shepherd was born, a shoes made to work as hard as you do. Wolf & Shepherd shoes were put to the test when a runner ran a half marathon, winning first place and setting a Guinness World Record for the fasted half marathon in dress shoes. Nextdoor launched in 2010, by Nirav and seven other co-founders who were obtained through his previous startup, Fanbase. To market, Nirav and his co-founders would directly pitch to homes in hopes to acquire a new neighborhood, typically leaders of the HOA. Cameron initially joined to handle the marketing end of Kodiak Cakes out of college, which played a tremendous role for the success of Kodiak today. Cameron would cold call retailers, in hopes to pitch to store buyers. He would physically bring in a griddle with Kodiak mix to make pancakes for the buyers while pitching, psychologically boosting their thoughts first handed.
