Jo Lam reminds us that our past does not determine our future. Having been a victim of domestic violence and growing up in a shelter, she has used her experiences to promote self-love and self-empowerment. She is the founder and CEO of Project Beauty, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps restore confidence in those that have suffered from domestic violence. In this episode, we discuss her journey and the defining moments that outlined her beginning stages of recovery. She shares how her organization came about and how it serves the intended recipients. Project Beauty's role is to bring the beauty experience to the shelter, and Jo hopes to empower women to see themselves as she describes in "the way God does." Jo's story gives meaning to the idea that every experience can be a teacher, and those experiences can ultimately change our destiny.
