The Wellington School in Ohio has been trying to find the sweet spot between good teaching, challenging, and fun. They call it the engagement index, and I think they're on to a breakthrough idea to make class relevant, rigorous, and fun. “John Kruzan is the Director of Technology at The Wellington School in Columbus, Ohio, where he is interested in transforming learning through creativity, design, and technology. John is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in nuclear physics. He has been a classroom teacher in physics, math, and computer science, and built the software version of the Wellington Engagement Index, a tool for measuring student engagement. Robert D. Brisk is Head of The Wellington School. He assumed the position in July 2007, following anational search and the unanimous endorsement of the Board of Trustees. His credits include nationally recognized curricular innovations, faculty professional development initiatives, successful capital campaigns, and master and strategic plans.
