What began as a minor theft investigation quickly escalated into one of the most disturbing criminal cases in Hungarian history. In a well, covered by a metal plate, they made a discovery that would shock not just the town, but the entire country for years. Five young girls were killed in Törökszentmiklós between 1953 and 1954. The person convicted was Piroska Jancsó-Ladányi.
