Palpatine Shows Fear for the First Time in Public - Star Wars Explained
Before the events of Revenge of the Sith, Palpatine commands Dooku and Grievous through holo, however this time is different in Star Wars than ever before. He shows his fear. Something has gone awry, not according to his design at all, and now he is showing his ultimate fear just before Revenge of the Sith when Anakin, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Dooku fight to the death. It's here that we see infront of Grievous and Dooku, Palpatine is actually afraid. The dark lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious, ruler of the future Empire, is human after all. His fear of the holo chair being discovered and ultimately the Jedi Order finding out his true identity would be catastrophic in his plans that he and Plagueis have worked on for so long. It's here that we see, finally, Palpatine losing his cool and showing his emotions infront of his Sith Apprentice and Separatist General.
