In this special bonus episode we sit down with Lanny Benoit and Glenn Bombardier. They were kind enough to swing by the STAGR Gear booth at Huntstock Fest and record a couple deer stories, tips, ideas, and more that you can apply to your adventures this coming deer season. Lanny Benoit needs no introduction, and is cladded as one of, if not the best deer tracker of all time. Taking a jaw dropping amount of 200lb bucks across the northeast and Canada. All while bringing us deer tracking videos, books, and more so the sport of tracking big bucks lives on. Glenn Bombardier is from Williston, VT and is a recent member of the BWB team. Glenn has taken many impressive bucks from the Adirondacks to Maine, and continues being a big part in educating the next generation of deer trackers. Glenn got into deer tracking after seeing the many impressive bucks hung up on the Benoit's family home in Duxbury. After that, Glenn attended the Benoit's deer school and ended up hunting and taking his first 200lb buck when hunting with Lanny back in the day. Lanny and Glenn share a special connection that is well worth documenting. Overall, we get to hear in on Lanny's heaviest Maine buck, Glenn's first 200 pounder, Lanny's heaviest Vermont Buck, Benoit deer school days, Benoit bus days, and the importance of hunting high when you're young and able! Working in taxidermy and being heavily involved with Fish & Game, Rodney knows a thing or two about these big northern bucks we all loves to chase. We cover a wide variety of topics about what Rodney likes most about hunting Maine, understanding the network of logging roads, deer activity, locating better than average bucks, and of course we sprinkle in some exceptional deer stories. Originally from Central New York, Jeff and Jim Doyle are a big woods father & son hunting duo that consistently take big bucks in states all around the Northeast. Jeff's built a strong reputation and position as being one of the premiere content creators in the Northeast hunting category, delivering many videos of successful and informational hunts. Jeff's videos over the past several seasons have been the "Tracking 200 Series" Where Jeff pursues big footed whitetails from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, the Adirondacks, and into the far reaches of Northern Maine to try and put a tag on the heaviest buck possible. Since the inception of the Tracking 200 series, Jeff has killed several great bucks on camera using a variety of techniques that show off his great ability as a versatile Northeast buck hunter. Jeff's Father Jim is a lifelong big woods Adirondack buck hunter who has an immense amount of knowledge when it comes to chasing, locating, and killing better than average bucks in the vast wilderness of the Adirondack park. Jeremy Ballantine is one of the Northeast's most accomplished outdoorsmen. His commitment to the sport and mindset for continual improvement is highly impressive. Diversification is a strength of Jeremy's from his early season bow hunting success, western hunting in the Rockies, all the way to tracking late season northern bucks in the mountains of western Massachusetts and Vermont Jeremy pursues it all. Beyond Jeremy's impressive track record of taking big bucks and game all across the country, he was one of the first to get into the game of self filming YouTube hunting videos. If you haven't seen any of his videos, check them out. The channels name is InPursuit365, there you will find an array of videos from bow hunting to tracking big bucks. In this episode we covered a range of topics and recorded a lot of valuable information that you can apply to your hunts this fall. After a short talk about some early season western elk hunting we dive into some north woods bucks stories that'll get you going. Ep 10Episode #10: Charlie Foote (200 Pound Bucks In The White Mountains)
Charlie Foote is regarded as one of the best hunters in all of the Northeast. In New Hampshire's Rugged White Mountains, Charlie has taken an astonishing 13 bucks that tipped the scales at over 200 pounds, his biggest being 249 pounds that he took in 2018. At 75 years old, Charlie is still getting deer almost every year, miles back where guys even half his age are unlikely to go. With his decades of experience, it is fair to say Charlie has as good of if not the best understanding of these big mountain bucks as anyone, and his scorecard of bucks taken backs it up. We cover a variety of topics in this episode, from the mindset required to hunt these mountains, to locating bucks over 200 pounds, tracking stories, and key similarities between all the big bucks he's taken. Outside of tracking big bucks, Charlie was one of the first scorers for NHASTC and still does it today, getting to measure many great New Hampshire bucks every year. Furthermore, outside of hunting season Charlie and his wife Nancy are some of the most accomplished hikers in New Hampshire, having conquered all 48 mountains over 4,000 feet in NH more than 25 times each. Dr. Chris Jenkins is an avid outdoorsmen, who has centered his career around conservation and the betterment of hunting opportunities for sportsmen across the country. Whether it be documenting and researching reptile or amphibians in the south, tracking bucks in the northeast, or hunting turkeys in the West, Chris spends a lot of time outdoors enjoying everything it has to offer. In this episode we talk about an array of topics like comparing hunting in the southeast to the northeast, habitat for all species, forest management, tracking bucks in the western US, snakes, turkey hunting, bear hunting, mountain hunting for deer, and more. We get to hear in on a lot of his experiences and ideas from his many years of experience. Chris is the CEO of the Orianne Society, and serves as a board member for Backcountry Hunters and Anglers organization. New Hampshire native John Moulton has an impressive resume when it comes to shed hunting in the spring and taking big bucks in the fall. Spending countless hours and putting many miles on in the search for shed antlers is John's passion, having collected nearly 1,500 sheds over the years from primarily New Hampshire. John's passion for shed hunting translates into his success during the hunting season, as he locates big bucks, feeding areas, bedding areas, scrape lines, and more while out in the mountains. John shares with us some of his wisdom when it comes to finding shed antlers, where to look, what to target, and some stories of some of the deer whose shed's he has found. We also get to hear some great hunting stories from his 2021 season where he took a massive eight pointer in the New Hampshire Muzzleloader season that tipped the scales at over 200 pounds, and his impressive Maine rifle season buck that also dressed over 200. John is a great guy, hunter, and teacher to those that want to learn the art of shed hunting.

John Wright is a native New Hampshire buck tracker with years of experience and some highly impressive bucks taken over the years. John shares his knowledge on an array of topics from what he looks for when searching for big mountain bucks, scouting, shed hunting, deer behavior, and more! John primarily hunts the White Mountains of New Hampshire and vast timberlands of Maine. Over the past 5 seasons John, in our opinion, has the most impressive record on the Northeast hunting scene. Some of his highlights over the past 5 years include a 219lb buck, a New Hampshire buck scoring nearly 170", multiple bucks in the 140" class, and more. We get to hear in on some of his buck stories from the past five years and how he manages to be so consistent when it comes to taking huge bucks in both Maine and New Hampshire where deer densities are low. Ep 6Episode #6: Joey Davis (200 Pound Buck Stories & Keys to Tracking)
Joey Davis has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tracking big Northwoods whitetails across New England and even into Canada. Having taken 16 bucks over the prestigious 200 pound mark, Joey shares some of his best stories from over the years. We talk about his 2021 season where he took a 209 pound Maine buck on the last day of muzzleloader season, and we also get the story on his big racked Vermont buck that gross scored 133 6/8". We get his thoughts on what it takes to be a successful tracker and the mindset required to get it done year after year. We also discussed The Northwoods Whitetail group that Joey and a few other friends started that will be bringing some high quality tracking content to everyone this season.
