UK inflation for July comes in at 3.8 per cent year-on-year to dash short-term hopes of an interest rate cut and pile on more pressure on Chancellor Rachel Reeves. Tech stocks are down over A.I. concerns as the White House eyes more equity-acquired stakes in companies enjoying Chips Act funding.
