S1 Ep 3Strategy - Ends/Ways/Means
We as Force Managers, use strategy to help Army Senior Leaders to make informed decisions on resources, capabilities, and risk. We as Force Managers have to be informed on current strategy and strategic direction from the National, Defense, Joint, and Army, and refer to those documents for the alignment of resources such as capabilities, budget, manning, stationing, et. Our efforts and approaches need to be nested within those strategic documents and guidance. First step: refer to the strategy. It all starts with the strategy.....For more on Dr. Meiser - please see below for links to his publications:https://press.armywarcollege.edu/parameters/vol46/iss4/9/https://digital-commons.usnwc.edu/nwc-review/vol76/iss1/5/ Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 2GFIM OE
The Army is moving multiple systems from the industrial era to the information such as the recent G-ARMY and IPPS-A transitions. GFIM is part of that transformation, an effort for the Army to be more data-centric and support 2030 efforts. This includes the sunsetting of 15 legacy systems and absorbing those functions into one system that produces the necessary authoritative data in support of Army efforts across the compos. These 15 systems do not talk to one another, and thus, the transformation gives Force Managers more flexibility and agility with data managementLink to GFIM OE Breaking Defense Article: https://breakingdefense.com/2023/10/no-more-sticky-notes-army-consolidating-43-incompatible-data-systems-to-just-2/ Hosted on Acast.
